Jon was killed by working for Lydick-Hooks Roofing from a 40 ft. fall, due to faulty equipment. The ladder was worn, 3 ft illegal in length, & not tied off properly by a drunk at 7:00 in the AM. When he stepped down on the ladder it broke & telescoped into itself. This company only had one ladder and those on the roof couldn't even get down to him, the police had to get them off the roof. His death certificate reads died from "scrambled" brains, as the fall blew the back of his skull out. It was only a couple weeks before he was killed, he'd told a cousin, that if the company didn't do something about their equipment, someone would get killed. He was right. I wish it'd been me he'd said that to. I believe it was negligent homicide. The day he died, before OSHA could get there, Lydick-Hooks chopped the rest of their equipment up, as soon as OSHA saw the ladder he fell from, it got chopped up too. Lydick-Hooks got a $3000 fine, and were told to take better care of their equipment. Jon's last check was one dollar and 16 cents, but it wouldn't have mattered if it was a million, instead of just one dollar. It wasn't enough to die for. Survivors are his mother Susie & her partner Karen, daughter Cheyenne, sister Suni, and grandmother Mary. He had just remarried 3 months before he died; wife was Stephanie, x-wife Shawna. He's buried in the Old Noxville Cemetery in Texas.
