Mrs. Anita J Newton, 57, of La Grange, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 6th, 2010 at her residence.

Anita was born in Gonzales, Texas on October 31, 1952, the daughter of Carlos and Aurora (Gonzales) Castro.

Anita was an employee at La Grange ISD for 21 years as a Special Education Teacher's Aid and was then a Routing and Scheduling Coordinator-Secretary for the transportation department. She was a devote member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband Terry Newton; two sons Michael Castro of La Grange, Texas; Son Terrell Newton and wife Amy of La Grange, Texas; a daughter Brenda Sanchez and husband David Sanchez, Sr. of Gonzales, Texas; two sisters Lupe Carrizales of Gonzales, Texas; and Mary Masias of Luling, Texas. She is also survived by 4 Grandchildren David Sanchez, Jr., Daniel Sanchez, Dylan Sanchez, all of Gonzales, Texas and Tori Newton of La Grange, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12 - 8 P.M. on Friday, January 8, 2009 at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5 - 8 P.M. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Mike Meismer at 7 P.M.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2009 at 10 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church in La Grange, Texas with Rev Fr. Joseph Varickamackal officiating.

Burial will follow at La Grange City Cemetery.
