US Navy Captain. Osborn graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1920 and at the start of World War II he was the Commanding Officer of the Ammunition Cargo ship U.S.S. Lassen. He next was the Commanding Officer of the light Cruiser U.S.S. Duluth from Sept 18, 1944 until June 25, 1949.
