Obituary : Pioneer lady of Warner district passes away . Mrs Susie Butterfield wife of O.M. Butterfield died at her home one & a half miles south of Warner , Wednesday Nov 17 & in her passing this community has lost a neighbor & true friend , one who was ever ready to lend a hand to all . Over a year ago Mrs Butterfield was stricken with paralysis & during her illness was uncomplaining patient & kind . She was one of the charter members of the Woman's Institute & also the Red Cross & was a faithful worker in each content to be in an inconspicious place giving her time & energy without stint . Three of her sons enlisted for service & although the parting was hard , they were surrendered at the call of duty . The funeral was held from her home , conducted by Rev G.W. McCracken assisted by Rev W.B. Dengis , Mrs Dengis & Miss Burg sang "face to face" . The foral afferings were made & very beautiful & showed in what respect she was held by her neighbours & friends . About 25 cars followed the remains to the last resting place in the Warner Cemetery . She married her husband Orville at Dwight Ill in 1878 & to this union 6 sons one daughter all living . Four boys were present with there father . Two of the oldest boys living in South Dakota were unable to be present also the daughter Mrs Carol Perry living at Bend Oregon did not make the funeral either .
