Norman E. Davis Sr., age 91 of Bethel, died at his home on Sunday, August, 14th. Norman was the beloved husband of 67 years to Marguerite B. (Stock) Davis. He was born November 8, 1919 in Oxford, the loving son to the late Wheeler and Anabel (Silk) Davis. Norman was baptized on December 26, 1954 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was a dedicated member for 56 years. Norman was a decorated veteran in the Army. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart, European African Middle Eastern Theater and Bronze Star. He was a very hardworking employee at Shepard Tannery and also a foreman to Dan Settanni for concrete works and foundations. Norman loved his family, the outdoors and his beer at the 4th of July picnics, which were epic. He is noted for his kindness and never ending generosity. He loved to fish, hunt, clamming at the ocean and loved dancing with his wife. Along with his loving wife, Marguerite, Norman is survived by his children, Alan R. Davis Sr. and his wife, Kathy of Arizona and Norman E. Davis Jr. and his wife, Peggy of Bethel; his six grandchildren, Alan R. Davis Jr. and his wife, Gretchen of Danbury, Tammy Reardon of New Milford, Mary Davis of Danbury, Anna Davis of New Milford, Jaime Davis of Bethel and Courtney Davis of Bethel; four great-grandchildren, Sara and Syndey Reardon, Emerson and Jack Davis; two brothers, Wheeler Davis and Dave Davis and his wife, Gale; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and "greats." He was prede-ceased by his brothers, Ralph, Robert and Donald Davis and his sister, Elenor Settanni. Funeral services for Norman will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 20th at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 18 Clapboard Ridge Rd, Danbury. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Bethel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 19th at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury.
