William Everett

U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Harvard University in 1859, from Cambridge University England, in 1863, the law department of Harvard University in 1865 and was admitted to the bar in 1866. He then studied for the ministry and was licensed as a preacher by the Suffolk Association of Unitarian Ministers, in 1872. He was a tutor at the Harvard University, (1870-73), an assistant professor of Latin, (1873-77) and a master at Adams Academy Massachusetts, (1878-93). In 1893, he was elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-third Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Henry Cabot Lodge, serving until 1895. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he resumed his position as master at Adams Academy Massachusetts, until his death at age 70.
