"James Patton Rimer, a lifelong resident of Clarion county, died at his home in Toby township on Sunday, June 9.
Mr. Rimer came of one of the pioneer families of Clarion county, being one of the eight children of the late David A. and Mary Patton Rimer. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Cherry Run for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Rhoda Wilson Rimer, one son, Robert, at home and two daughters, Mrs. Herbert Reichart of Tionesta and Mrs. Richard Murphy, who resides in Toby township. One sister and three brothers also survive, namely: Mrs. Margaret Gruebele of Rimersburg; Harry M. of Clarion; David E. of Harrisburg and Dr. Edward S. Rimer, of New York City, N. Y.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. J. T. Rimer and Alva J. Rimer, both residents of Clarion county and one sister, Mrs. Andrew Fleming of Brooklyn, N. Y.
Funeral services were held at his late residence on Wednesday, June 12 and were conducted by his pastor, Rev. R. L. Renwick, assisted by Rev. W. H. Harman of Callensburg and Rev. Meek of New Kensington.
Interment was made in the Rimersburg cemetery."
