William Edward Bushong, 64, 1418 Salem Road, died 7 a.m. July 27, 1989, at Melton Motel. Mr Bushong was a retired baker associated with Nabisco Co. for 30 years. Mr Bushong was born Sept. 1, 1924, in Scheller, a son of John and Lou Ella (Newberry) Bushong. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fry and Frick Funeral Chapel in Waltonville with the Rev. Melvin Larson officiating. Burial will follow in Knob Prarie Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr Bushong is survived by one brother, Virgil Bushong and wife, Geraldine, of Waltonville; three sisters, Mrs. Opal Rector and husband Thurman, of Mt. Vernon, Mrs Evelyn Nordin of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Ruth Bandor of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Mr Bushong was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
