Memorial services for Homer A. Alston, 90, of Killeen will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen. Rev. Randy Wallace will officiate.

A time of visitation will begin at 4 p.m. prior to the memorial service.

Mr. Alston passed away Thursday evening at his home in Killeen.

Homer was born January 26, 1920 in Bell County to John H. and Nettie O. (Collier) Alston. He married Anna Mary on April 21, 1940. Mr. Alston retired from the SantaFe Railroad, and owned and operated Crown Laundry until 1978, and owned and managed rental housing in the Killeen area until 2008.

Homer was preceded in death by his wife on May 14, 2008 and by his son, Ronny Alvin Alston on April 28, 1978.

He is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Richerson of Smithville, TX; two brothers, J C Alston of Troy, and Kenneth Alston of Temple and a sister, Francis Kilpatrick of Killeen; six grandchildren, David Alston of Round Rock, Trey Robnett of Houston, Blake Alston-Webb of Killeen; Ashley McDowell of Pflugerville, Roni Ray of Killeen and J J Alston of San Antonio; two great grandsons, Michah Ray and Thomas Robnett and also survived by his little dogs Spike and Angel.
