"RESPECTED CITIZEN DIES AT RIPE AGE"

"After a long life spent for the most part in profession activities, E. s. Burril died at his honme in Gulfport on north 25th avenue sunday morning at 1 o'clock in the 71st year of his age. Mr. Burril might have been called a pioneer of two settlments, the first at Yorkville, Michigan, and the other Gulfport, the home so dear to him and to which he came in 1899 when there was nothing here save the site upon which the town was afterwords built. Last summer the health of the deceased was not good and he was urged to visit his old home in Michigan, but his attachments here were so strong he could not be induced to leave even for a short stay. No citizen in gulfport ever watched it s growth with more interest than Mr. burril, and he showed his fatih in its ultimate importance by investing all he could make in that section where he saw fit to cast his lot. As a citizen and neighbor he met all the requirements, and when he reached the end of his days he was held in universal esteem. surviving his is his heart-broken wife, who has followed him in all his wanderings with gread fidelity, and ten children who will ever miss his affection and good counsel. By profession, Mr. Burril was a civil engineer. It is announced that interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clcokc, the service to be conducted at the home of Charles F. Burril. Rev. Dodge will officiate."

"FUNERAL OF E. S. BURRIL"

"the funeral of E. S. Burril took place yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock with interment in Evergreen cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. W. T. Sullivan, presiding, elder of the Methodist church, and Rev. Sheldon Dodge, pastor of the North Gulfport Baptist church. The remains were followed to their last resting place by a large number of sorrowing friends."
