COURIER-JOURNAL OBITUARY, LOUISVILLE, KY - 08/15/2011 - McNEIL, DONNA RAE, 74, of Louisville, passed away on August 14, 2011 at Oaklawn Nursing Rehab Facility, with her loving family by her side. She was the former Donna Rae Needy and a retired registered nurse. Donna had earned her degree from the University of Louisville in 1977, and had worked for Sts. Mary & Elizabeth, Health America and Humana Inc. before retiring in 1998. She was a member at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. Preceding Donna in death was her loving husband of 54 years, Clarence "Junie" McNeil; parents, Chester and Mildred Needy and her sister, Joan (Needy) Hagerman. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Susan McNeil, Michael (Karen), Douglas, Brian (Bonnie) and Chris (Laurel); grandchildren, Andrea, Justin, Meredith, Schyler (Abigail), Hayden, Lauren, Briana, Jared, and Madison McNeil; Amanda (Josh) Straight; sisters, Chady (Jim) Eversole, Jan (Doug) Murphy, Laura (Howard) Sims; and brother, Chet (Sandy) Needy. Donna's Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Norton Cancer Center or Oak Lawn Rehab Center.
