Debbie Brumfield Murphy, 57, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2011.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Mantooth and the Rev. Rusty Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Debbie was born March 2, 1954, and raised in Pampa. She was a 1972 graduate of Pampa High School. While in school, she excelled in all sports, as well Girl Scouts.

Debbie married Eddie Murphy on September 26, 1971 in Pampa. She volunteered for five years at Robert E. Lee Elementary. Before joining the staff as a teacher's assistant where she served for 13 years. Debbie was a devoted wife, mom, grandma and daughter.

Mrs. Murphy loved to read, spend time with her family and go camping and fishing. She was a long time member of Temple Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and served as nursery coordinator. She loved her Lord and her church family. She was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation and proud of her American Indian heritage.

She was preceded in death by her mother Irene Hantsche in 1993; two brothers, Nicky Brumfield in 2006 and Jerry Brumfield in 2010; and by her stepfather Ted Hantsche.

Survivors include her husband, Eddie Murphy of Amarillo; two daughters, Stacy Murphy of Dumas and Stephanie Jackson of Amarillo; her parents, Junior and Agnes Brumfield of Pampa; a granddaughter, Janessa Jackson of Amarillo; a niece, Evelyn Brumfield; and a nephew, Dallas Brumfield.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131; or to Temple Baptist Church.
