Dorothy L. Schuster, 86, died August 14, 2011, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born December 13, 1924, to Arthur and Maude Martin Paden in Dodge City. On November 11, 1963, she married John A. Schuster in San Antonio, TX. He died May 2, 1995. She was a member of the local Catholic churches in Hutchinson. Dorothy was a former president of the auxiliary for the VFW. She was a well known artist, making jewelry and painting.

Survivors include: daughters, Gypsy Claar of Hutchinson, Julie Schuster Feist, Barbara Schuster Krentzl; grandchildren, Elizabeth Renner of Wichita, Teena Effenbeck of Arlington, Mariah Claar of Wichita, Sadia Bitner of Wichita, Zenny Ansley of Georgia; many great grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Annabel Paden Nunnali.

Dorothy was preceded in death by son, Larry Leon Claar, daughters, Nancy Fern Claar, Naomi Ann Claar, and brothers, William D. and Lee Paden.

Parish Rosary will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Saint Teresa's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Father Nicholas Voelker officiating. Burial will be at Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may sign the book 9-9 today at Elliott Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, in care of the mortuary.
