He was the son of Austin C Jones and Julia Ann Stevens and the husband of Alice A Rossiter. He was a veteran of the Civil War. He enlisted as a private on 07 Sept 1861 in Company G 7th Connecticut Infantry. He was promoted to full corporal on 25 June 1864. He mustered out 20 July 1865 in Goldsboro, NC. He died after 28 September when he received a pension.
