Birth: 3rd of ten known children in Napier township, Bedford county, Pennsylvania.
Richard Lundy resided at 1213, formerly 1309 Grand avenue with his wife, Ella, daughters, Bessie and Byrde. He had been employed as a carpenter, a salesman for a wholesale grocery company and was City Clerk for awhile.
Their home was on the Victorian Home Tour noted , to wit: The Lundy House - 1213, formerly 1309 Grand avenue - Eastlake style home built in 1895 by Richard Lundy, County official. The style was first applied to furniture. It used irregular floor plans and gabled roofs. Windows, porches, and gables were decorated with spindle-work resembling that on Eastlake furniture. Porches were often small and recessed into the irregular design of the house.

FORMER CITY CLERK DIES
R. LUNDY PASSES AWAY AT GRAND AVENUE HOME
Had Been in Poor Health Two Years
But Was Seriously Sick Only a Week
R. Lundy, who for 17 consecutive years, was Carthage city clerk, died at 9:50 o'clock Saturday night at his home, 1213 Grand Avenue. Death was due to heart trouble. He had been seriously sick a week but had not been in good health for two years. He was 68 years old.
Mr. Lundy had resided in Carthage about 35 years and for several years before he came to the city he resided in the country in this county.
He was born in Pennsylvania. For one year and four months he served in the Eighty-third Pennsylvania Infantry during the Civil War. He enlisted when he was 16 years old.
Soon after the war he came to Jasper county. He was elected to the city clerk's office on the Republican ticket. Before he became city clerk he was street commissioner for one year.
After leaving the clerk's office he was a salesman for the Platt-Porter grocery or the predecessors of that company, until poor health caused him to quit work. He was the salesman for the concern in Carthage and the stores immediately adjacent to the city.
When he was a boy, Mr. Lundy became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church here when he died. He was a charter member of the A.H.T.A.
The surviving relatives are the wife and children: Mrs. Bessie Lundy of Oklahoma City; John Lundy of Carthage; Mrs. A. F. Collier, of Los Angeles; Lloyd Lundy of San Francisco. Neither Mrs. Collier nor Lloyd Lundy was able to attend the funeral, Mrs. Collier having sickness in her family and Lloyd Lundy just now is recovering from an attack of appendicitis.
Rev. Dr. W. G. Clinton conducted the funeral services this morning at the Lundy home. Mrs. Clinton sang the funeral hymns. The pallbearers were Walter Putnam, Phil Hannum, Sam Wheeler, C. R. Dumars, D. S. Emerson and L. I. Dennis. The body was buried in Park Cemetery
