Margaret Ellen Cooper, age 91, passed away Monday, June 21, 2010, at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village in Corsicana. She was born June 13, 1919, to George Clinton "Clint" and Ella Mae Coffey in Jester.
Mrs. Cooper was a lifelong member of North Beaton Church of Christ. As a young mother she was active in PTA. Her hobbies were collecting antiques, sewing and gardening. She was a member of the Heritage Oaks Bell Choir and was a volunteer mail distributor for Heritage Oaks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Charles Cooper in 2002.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by a son, Gary Charles Cooper of Belen, N.M.; a daughter, Mariella Cooper Wallace of Belen, N.M.; a sister, Grace Woodward of Fort Worth; and a granddaughter, Laura Read of Austin.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at Corley Funeral Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, at North Beaton Church of Christ with Russell Bankes officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
