Denver Shirl Baker
Denver Shirl Baker, age 93, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Fri., Aug. 12, 2011 at 3 a.m. at his residence.

He was born on Jan 27, 1918 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Jesse W. and Frances (Fourman) Baker. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Ann (Pearson) Baker; son, Dennis Gene Baker; brothers, Delbert and Paul Baker; sister, Thelma Knowlton.

Denver was a farmer and also worked at Corning. He was a member of the Greenville Church of the Brethren and was a former member of the Painter Creek Church of the Brethren where he was a Deacon at both. He was a volunteer for the Brethren Hoem and Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed buying and rebuilding farm equipment. He served with the Civilian Public Service. He was a dedicated Christian and a very loving and devoted family man.

There will be a service held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Greenville Church of the Brethren, 421 Central Avenue, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Ron Sherck officiating. Burial will follow in the Gettysburg Cemetery, Gettysburg, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday, from 5-8 p.m. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, as well as one hour prior to the service at church. …
