Mrs. Amy Irene Scogings Smith, 58,126 North 6th East, died in the American Fork Hospital on Saturday January 31, at 11:10 p.m. of a cerebral hemorhage. She was born August 20, 1900. in Uintah County, Utah, a daughter of Phillip E. and Mary Elizabeth Brown Scogings. She married Alma A Smith on December 19, 1919, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died December 5, 1947. Mrs. Smith was active in LDS church work, and a member of the American Fork Ninth Ward. She was a leader of a teen-age group in the Fourth Ward before the ward was divided and leader of a 4-H Club for several years. She will best be remembered in American Fork for her lovely flowers which she shared with everyone. Many bouquets found their way from her garden to the bedside of the ill. A few years back she was active in the American Fork Garden Club and won many prizes for her flowers at the County fair and other shows. Survivors include three sons and two daughters, Oliver G. Smith and Woodrow Smith, both of American Fork; Forrest L Smith, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. E William (Eva) Lambert, and Mrs. Ray (Lela) Cameron, Salt Lake City; (Another daughter, Ramona Ilene, died on October 14, 1957) Four grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters, William D Scogings, St. Anthony, Idaho; J Russell Scogings, Vancouver, Washington; Mrs. Albert Farey, San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Carl Rehbock, San Carlos, Calif.; Mrs. George Evans, Salt Lake City. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the American Fork Fourth Ward. Interment was in the American Fork Cemetery
