Married to Laodicea "Dicey" Langston/Springfield. They had 22 children. They married 1/9/1783 in Laurens County, South Carolina.

DEATHS. --- In Greenville District, (S. C.) on the 21st ult., Capt. THOMAS SPRINGFIELD, in the 79th year of his age. He has left a numerous train of relatives to mourn his loss, having had 21 children by one wife.

Thomas Springfield's father was Thomas Springfield, a teacher, who hung himself in NC possibly after his wife's death leaving four young children of which Thomas Jr. was the youngest only 2 years old. There are two volumes on the Springfield family which I have and also can be found in the DAR Library in Washington DC.

I am very proud to be directly kin to both Thomas Springfield and his wife Dicey Langston. Langston and Springfield are both direct lines on my tree.
