Services for Mr. Fredrick Leo Harris, 78, will be 2 pm Tuesday August 16, 2011 at the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Harris Cemetery near Crowville.

Mr. Harris was born on May 8, 1933 in Crowville, LA and passed from this life on Saturday August 13, 2011 at this residence after an extended illness. He was a resident of Newellton, a retired television repairman, served with the United States Air Force and attended First Baptist Church Newellton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruby Glasscock Harris, and two brothers, Charles Harris and Dale Harris.

Survivors include his wife, Helen C. Harris of Newellton; his son, Jason D. Harris and wife Lillian of Zachary; his sisters, Eloise Haynes of Baker and Carolyn Whitehead of Denton, Texas; his grandchildren, Alyssa B. Harris, Whittney, Lauren, Megan and Josh Brewer all of Zachary; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call for visitation on Monday 5 pm until 8 pm.
