"Hansnickl" - The 1864 birth-place of (my, Robert C. Kuhmann) grandpa, Friedrich Ferdinand KUHMANN - in Ramsenthal, Gemeinde Bindlach, Landkreis Bayreuth, Bayern (Bavaria), Germany. The house, now 182 years old - still exists ...(circa 2017). Built in 1836. house-number (Haus Nº49) Ramsenthal, known as, ''Hansnickl" - was formerly owned by Johann Adam Kuhmann (father of Friedrich Ferdinand Kuhmann). (Früher das erste Anwesen am Ortseingang aus Richtung Bindlach.) Translation: Was once the first "luxury" hotel on the outskirts of Ramsenthal, on the road to Bindlach. Today (circa 2017), the house number is "Hauptstrasse Nº14", Ramsenthal.

[DEUTSCH]: Die Aufzeichnungen beinhalten alle Anwesen, die vor Einführung der Straßennamen (am 1. Februar 1966) existiert haben. Ramsenthal wurde mit Heinersgrund gezählt, Hauenreuth hatte eine eigene Zählung. Die Hausnummern wurden vermutlich in der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts eingeführt und ab dann fortlaufend nach dem Bau der Häuser vergeben. Eine Besonderheit gibt es bei den Hausnummern 3 und 4. Diese gehörten zum Anwesen Löw (Hauptstr. 34), das die Hausnummer 5 hatte. Anfangs soll das Haus mit der Nummer 3 laut mündlicher Überlieferung etwa an der Stelle gewesen sein, wo heute die Hauptstr. 34a ist. Nachdem es abgerissen wurde (wann das war, lässt sich leider nicht nachvollziehen), erhielt das Haus der Fam. Knauer (Hauptstr. 30) die Hausnummer 3, wechselte aber in den fünfziger Jahren auf 56, seitdem war die Nummer 3 nicht mehr vorhanden. Die Nummer 4 wurde ebenfalls in den fünfziger Jahren neu vergeben, und zwar an das Haus der Fam. Kolb (Hauptstr. 20). Auch das Haus mit der Nummer 2 birgt eine Besonderheit: Es soll laut mündlicher Überlieferung zum Schloss gehört und als Gefängnis gedient haben. Beim Bau des Hauses wurde ein gemeißelter Stein eingemauert, der die Jahreszahl 1569 trägt und vermutlich zum vorhergehenden Haus gehört.

[ENGLISH]: The records include all properties that existed before the introduction of street-names (01-Feb-1966). Ramsenthal was counted with Heinersgrund, Hauenreuth had its own numbering system. The house numbers were probably introduced in the first half of the 19th Century, and thereafter assigned sequentially - after the construction of the houses. There's another peculiarity - the house numbers 3 and 4. Those belonged to the Löw estate (Hauptstr. 34), which had the number 5. Initially, the house was assigned the number 3, and was at the location, according to oral tradition, where 34a is today. After it was torn-down (when that was done, unfortunately, we don't know), it was the home of the Knauer family (Hauptstrasse 30) at house-number 3, but changed in the 1950's, to 56 - since the number 3 was not available. The number 4 was also re-issued in the 1950's, and that is the house of the Kolb family (Hauptstrasse 20). Also, the house with the number 2, holds a special status: it is, according to oral tradition, a property which once belonged to the Lord of the Castle, and (according to that oral tradition) onced served as a prison. During the construction of that house, a stone was carved into the wall, which bears the date of A.D. 1569, and probably is a vestige of the previous renovation of that same house.
