I have an article in the Del Norte County Historical Society's Bulletin dated October 26, 1971. It reads: "This is to notify you of the death of Eleanor Albert of 10323 19th St. Alta Loma, CA on Oct.8. I presume she was a member of your Society, as she us to notify you whenever she passed away. Miss Albert was the first white child born in Requa, CA, among the Klamath Indians. There were no doctors or midwives, so her father, Henry Albert, delivered her. She commented that he did a pretty good job of it, as she had been around a long time. She reached the age of 88 yrs., 11 months and 14 days." This letter was written by Zella H. Stone of the Stone Funeral Home of Upland, CA. Eleanor's birthdate would be October 24, 1882. Requa is a little town on the Klamath River in Del Norte County, CA.
