"Nee, Matthew Aloysius - Recitation of the Rosary will be held Monday at 8 p.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church in North Bakersfield and Requiem Mass will be said Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church for Matthew Aloysius Nee, 80, of 702 Arvin St., who died Dec. 1 in a Bakersfield Hospital. Rev. Kevin Cleary will officiate and interment will follow in the family plot at the Union cemetery under the direction of the Mish Funeral Home in North Bakersfield. Mr. Nee was born March 13, 1882 in Cumberland, Md., and has lived in California and Bakersfield since 1910. He was a fire chief, retired from the Standard Oil Co. having spent 37 years with the company and retired in 1948. He was a member of Christ the King parish, the Holy Name Society and was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Primilla May of Anaheim; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Donations may be made to Christ the King School building fund. Pallbearers will be Tony Minarik, Joseph Ullrich, Byron Apperson, Jerry O'Neil, Walter Mills and Walter Bayus. Honorary pallbearers will be George Gilchrist, Joseph Villard, Glenn Tague, U. H. Apperson, George Carrere, M. P. Shea, L. S. Woeber, Martin Thu, H. R. Drummond, A. K. Baldwin, H. R. Warren, Carl Berger, Forest Dockstader, A. W. Kabes, Joseph Actis, George Grimes and C. R. Sowden.
