Lead Daily Call, February 19, 1934 - "DEATH CLAIMS MRS. EMMA FLADSTOL.
Mrs. Emma Fladstol, about 70, died Saturday night at the home of her son near the foot of Aztec hill.
Funeral services will probably be held tomorrow afternoon at the Rounsevell funeral home, with the Rev. Reinholtzen, of Rapid City, in charge. Interment will be made in the municipal cemetery."
Lead Daily Call newspaper, February 20, 1934 - "Funeral services for the late Emma Fladstol, whose death came at the home of her son, Peter, near the foot of Aztec Hill, were held this afternoon at the Rounsevell funeral home, with the Rev. R.S. Reinholtzen, of Rapid City, giving the sermon. Interment was made in the municipal cemetery here. The deceased was born January 20, 1858 in Harmony, Minn. She grew up there and was married to A. Fladstol in September 1884. Mr. Fladstol died in 1906 and Mrs. Fladstol and her children moved to Slim Butte, S.D., where Mrs. Fladstol lived until November 1933, when she came to Lead to make her home with her son. In addition to him she leaves another son, Harry, of Ealesville, Wis., who arrived here last night, and four daughters, Mrs. R.C. Tollefson, Mrs. W.G. Lennerville and Miss Winnie Fladstol, all of Lead, and Mrs. W.E. Tragdorf of Balboa, Canal Zone."
