Silas H. Medlock was born June 8, 1842 and died February 18, 1898, aged 55 years, 8 months and 16 days. He was born in Kentucky, lived childhood there, but has resided in Missouri since the war and in Lebanon about ten years, having come from Rolla.
He was a pension attorney of record, dealing directly with the pension department. He was very successful in his business, frequently getting claims allowed where others had failed.
He was practically an invalid for the past three years,
suffering extremely at times from a bronchial affection.
He was taken down on the 10th of last month, but rallied
to such a degree as to be out of the house again.
His patient wife was constantly at his bedside during his sickness, administering to his every want.
Although he had the best medical skill available and every attention that faithful friend could bestow), still it was impossible to stay the ravages of the destroyer.
He was a member of the Baptist church and died in the triumph of his faith.
He was a kind and loving husband, dutiful parent, and law-abiding citizen. Peace to his memory.
