Harriet Northy Thompson Hyland was my 2x great-grandma: son William Russell Hyland m Julia Melissa Tallman; had son Ira Edwin Hyland m Adeline Frances Wiser who had son: Edwin Myron Hyland (my father).
Harriet was born on 15 August 1852, in Beaver Dam, Dodge, Wis. to Russell R Thompson and Mary Howard (her mother died in 1859 when Harriet was not yet 7 and she had a much younger step-mother, Mercy Green). Harriet was one of 7 children.
She was raised in Beaver Dam area where she met Myron Daniel Hyland (he also went by Dan). On 29 March 1867, Harriet was united in marriage to Myron Daniel Hyland, at Columbus, Columbia Co., Wis. recorded in Vol. 1 page 395. The witnesses at their marriage were Adam McConnell and W. J. Vaugh. Harriet was 14-1/2 when she married and Myron was almost 23. Myron was born 11 July 1844, at Cayuga Co., New York.
Dan or Daniel (as he grave had) died 7 Dec 1927, in Chetek, Barron Co, Wis. and was buried beside his wife in Lake View Cemetery. His military style gravestone there is inscribed "Daniel Hyland Co. A. 17 Wis. Inf."

Her Barron Co, Wis. death record incorrectly listed her name, Harriet N Thompson as her mother, instead of Mary Howard. It also had her birth a year off since she died 11 days before her birthday.
