Mr. Vincent J. Bast, 75, of 3520 Schroeder Drive, Manitowoc, died Wednesday,
June 22, 1988 at his residence. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday at First
German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Arno J. Wolfgramm will
officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Bast was born December 13, 1912 at St. Nazianz, Wisconsin, son of the late
Dr. E.J. and Anna Winter Bast. Mr. Bast was employed by Spindler Company for 32
years, retiring in 1970. He married the former Laura Ruth Draheim on June 10,
1933. The couple just celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary on June 10, 1988.
Mr. Bast was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Ruth; four children, Jinny ( Bob) Dill, Ruth Ann
(Charlie) Indestad, Vince (Pam) Bast and Chuck (Nancy) Bast, all of Manitowoc; 12
grandchildren, Mary Beth, Sara, Kristin, Jodi, Brett, Amy, Greg, Tammy, Tori, Lisa,
Heidi and Erin; three great grandchildren, Craig, Christopher and Ryan and a
brother, Bernard (Emily) Bast of Manitowoc and other relatives and friends survive.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9:30 am Saturday
morning and until the time of service. There will be no Friday evening visitation
at the funeral home. Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of
funeral arrangements.
