OKMULGEE — Services for Alta Mae Berger, 95, Okmulgee, formerly of Ada, are 2 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Dennis Tate officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.

She died April 17, 2003, at an Okmulgee hospital. She was born Aug. 19, 1907, at Seagoville, Dallas County, Texas, to John and Sarah Almeda Miller Bradley.

She attended Vanoss Schools. She was a homemaker and worked as a private duty nurse aide. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for many years in the churches which she attended.

She and S.L. "Buster" Berger were married July 26, 1927. He died Dec. 28, 1983.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, Paul Eugene Berger, and a son, James Ray Berger.

Survivors include a son, Jack D. Berger, Ada; two daughters, Virginia Cooper,
Mt. Vernon, Texas, and Almeda Biggs, Okmulgee; a brother, John Bradley Jr., Sand Springs; two sisters, Ruby Glasby and Nova Lee Williamson, both of Tulsa; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Bearers are Kenneth Bond, Dewey McDonald, Bryan Taylor, Gene Maddox, Kenneth Heck and Hoyt Hyden.

Honorary bearers are Jack Cowger, Curtis Bond and Monte Cooper.
