Edith Gow, former Minerva teacher

Edith Gow, 86, of 578 E. Third St. died of a heart attack at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Community Hospital.

Born Dec. 5, 1906 in Mineral Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Charlotte (Waldron) Ohl.

Mrs. Gow was a graduate of Niles High School and also graduated from Kent State Normal School. She had been a teacher in the Minerva School District.

Survivors include her husband, Chester D. Gow, whom she married June 15, 1928; a son, James E. Gow of Salem; a daughter, Carol Gow of Salem; a sister, Charlotte Corso of Niles; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at Salem Community Hospital with the Rev. Al Voorhis officiating. Her body will be donated to Case Western Reserve School of Medicine.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Visiting Nurse Association.
