Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Southtown Funeral Home for Burrel A. Greenrod, 81, of 2816 S.W. Ninth St., who died Thursday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center of pneumonia. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Gardens.
Mr. Greenwood was born in Ringgold County and had lived in Des Moines since 1925. He was an engineer for the Chicago Great Western Railroad Co. and was a member of Park Avenue Christian Church, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Odd Fellows.
Survivors include his wife, Verna; a daughter, Phyllis Madsen of West Des Moines, two sisters, "Lola" Dulaney of Mount Ayr and Dale Jungberg of Wenatchee, Wash., andn three grand children.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
