He was born in Dolgeville, the son of Lynn and Amy Pope Leonard. He was an engineer with the Remington Arms Co. for more than 25 years.
He married Elaine Geraghty in 1946 in Herkimer.
Mr. Leonard had lived most of his life in the area. He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Ilion, the 25 Year Club of Remington Arms, and the Ilion Memorial Post of the American Legion.
Besides his widow he leaves his mother in West Winfield, and a daughter, Miss Gail Leonard of Utica.
Interment will be in Cedarville Cemetery. Herkimer Evening Telegram, Monday, Nov. 16, 1970
