Edith (Cowdrey) Farley, age 72,went to sleep August 12,2011 at Texoma Medical Center surrounded by her beloved family.

Mrs. Farley was born January 5 1939 in Yakima,Washington the daughter of DeVoe and Mary (Prater) Cowdrey. She married Gene Grimes in Yakima in 1954. They had two children together,Rhonda Lynn and Danny Eugene. In 1960,Edith moved to texas with Rhonda and Danny. There she met Daniel Farley. They were married 1961. Dan adopted Rhonda and Danny. The couple had two more children,Judith Ann and James De. Mrs.Farley was a LVN for more than 40 years and worked at Wilson N.Jones, several nursing homes in the area and Texoma Medical Center. She loved being a caregiver, not only as a career, but as a way of life. When ever anyone needed help, she was there. She had dedicated one of her spare bedrooms as a pantry and furnished food to many.
Her grandchildren lovingly referred to the room as
"Nannie-Mart". Edith and Dan opened up their home to almost every child and grandchild at some point. If you needed help, nannie and granddad were there to do what ever they could.
Edith laid Dan to rest on March 2010. She missed him deeply, that filled her time by serving the Lord, taking care of her family and spending time with her dear sister, Linda. How she loved her days with her sister lunching and shopping. They would spend hours looking for those bargains! She also loved to volunteer at the church school, listening to the children read to her. This was one of the highlights of her week. She was looking forward to the new school year, along with beginning to volunteer at TMC with her dear friend and neighbor, Carolyn Bronaugh.

Mrs. Farley loved her Lord more than anything. She spent hours each day talking with him and reading his word. She was of the Adventist faith and was a member of the seventh day advantage church in Denison Texas. She was a very special lady and was loved by all who knew her. She always had a bright smile and a warm hug for everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
