Mr. Sing was born in Brunswick County on March 26, 1925 and was the son of the late John and Geneva Phelps Sing. He was the husband of the late Elois Sing and was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Pigott. He was a member of Mt.Pisgah Baptist Church and an honorary member of the Coastal Coon Hunters Club. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Mr. Sing was daily visitor at Jerome's Restaurant in Shallotte where he had a private table and the staff refereed to him as "Pops". He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by three daughters, Diane Ward and husband Dink, Kathy Lee Sing, Sherry Fields and husband Lloyd all of Supply; his grandchildren that he loved dearly, Mike Fields and wife Beth, Neil Ward, Craig Fields and wife Angie, Kendal Ward and wife Brooke, Lisa Robbins and husband Gary, Melanie Gore and husband Don, Tracy Lanier and husband Stephen, Brandy Lewis and husband Jonathan; precious great grandchildren, Destiny Ward, Olivia Ward, Will Phelps, Dylan Robbins, Amber Fields, Anna Fields, Hannah Ward, Cody Fields, Tanner Fields, Mackenzie Ward, Chase Johnson, Katlyn Bledsoe, Braden Lanier, Landon Lewis, Bryson Lanier ; a sister, Doris Gray of Columbia, SC
Funeral services will be held Sunday August 14, 2011 at 3pm at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Reverend Foyd Bennett and Reverend Anthony Clemmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Riley Sellers Cemetery.
Mr. Sing's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
