Dalton William Stephens, 56, of R3, Twin Lakes, Dowagiac, died suddenly Wednesday noon in Lee Memorial Hospital shortly after he had been admitted. Death was reported to be due to a heart ailment.

He was born March 2, 1907 in LaFontaine, Ind., the son of Pearl and Grace Brain Stephens. He was employed by the Bendix Corporation in South Bend. He belonged to the Moose Lodge.

His marriage to Irma Stilwell took place Nov. 25, 1954, and she survives him. He also leaves a daughter and a son, Mrs. Wilma Dorman and Robert Stephens, both of Dowagiac; a stepson, James Rouse of Decatur; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Martha Stephens and Mrs.Irene Blaine of South Bend; and Mrs. Marie Shields of Chicago. Another sister, Mrs. Georgia McEleny, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the McLauchlin Funeral Home with the Rev. James Grant, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock tonight.
