Chris was the son of Amelia Nava and Martin Loza. He was a native of Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School in 2002. After graduation, he pursued a career at Howard College and received a degree in Criminal Justice on May 12, 2006. While in college he met his wife Kristena Torres and in 2005 they became the parents of their daughter Iliana Alyse Loza. Chris was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church most of his life. He can best be remembered as a person who stood up for what he believed no matter what it was about. As a member of the National Guard, Christopher was deployed to Iraq in November 2008 assigned to the 1st Squadron, 124th Cavalry Regiment, 56th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 36th Infantry Division, Waco, Texas. He became ill March 17, 2009, in Radwaniyah, Iraq, and was transported to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C. where he passed away. Christopher grew up with a love of baseball and softball and dreamed of one day becoming a firefighter or police officer.
