Bertha Herman, 92, Gorham, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at St. John's Health Care Center, Victoria. She was born Nov. 6, 1917, in Victoria to Anton F. and Anna Marie (Brungardt) Dreiling.
She married Henry E. Herman on Sept. 19, 1938, in Victoria. He preceded her in death Sept. 11, 1991.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and St. Charles Daughters of Isabella, both of Gorham.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald E. Herman and wife, Dianne, Eureka Springs, Ark., and Christopher K. Herman, Dallas; a daughter, Eileen Brungardt and husband, John, Victoria; two daughters-in-law, Nancy Herman, Larned, and Kathy Herman, Hays; a brother, Virgil Dreiling, Portland, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Roger A. Herman and William A. Herman; and two brothers, Otto Dreiling and Harry Dreiling; and three sisters, Laura Jacobs, Josephine Bolinger and Armella Schmidtberger.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gorham; burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Gorham. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cline's Mortuary of Victoria. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a Daughters of Isabella rosary at 7:30 p.m., both at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary Catholic Church, Gorham Senior Center or Masses in care of the funeral home.
