(Several other families with Sutton lineage are known to have acquired land and settle in Maine in that time period.) What appears to be that same family - but larger - is living in Topsham, Maine in the 1810 census and in Bath, Maine in the 1820 and 1830 censuses. The one female age 45 and over in the 1820 census is not listed in the 1830 census.
There is a Find-A-Grave memorial at Maple Grove Cemetery in Bath, Maine for Sally Brown, wife of Gardner Brown, died September 21, 1825. There is no memorial for her husband at that cemetery . Nor is there a memorial for a Gardner Brown of that generation found elsewhere in Maine.
