Amanda C. Feltman Passed Away Sunday
Amanda C. Feltman, a resident of the Fort Benton area for the past 52 years, passed away at the St. Clare hospital at 8 a.m. Sunday, following an illness that had extended over the past four years.
Amanda C. Campbell was born Aug. 12, 1879, at Etna, Missouri, where she spent her early life, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William C. Campbell. In 1900 she was united in marriage to Ed Feltman, and they continued to reside there until 1909 when they came to Montana. The Feltmans ranched on the John Muir place on the Missouri river for some time and then moved to the Lockwood ranch on the Teton, and later to Pleasant Valley. In 1919 Mr. Feltman purchased the ranch just northwest of this city, part of which joins the townsite, and they resided there. Mr. Feltman passed away June 15, 1958.
Mrs. Feltman was a member of the Christian Church and a member of the Christian Sisterhood, and for a number of years was active in that work. The greater part of her time was spent in caring for her family, and she remained close to her home.
She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Lee Christiansen, Fort Benton; Mrs. Nick Reborhek, of Great Falls; and Wallace E. and William D. Feltman, of Fort Benton; 16 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Campbell, of Kansas City, Missouri, and other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held from the Benton Funeral Home chapel at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Burial will be in the family plot in Riverside Cemetery.
The relatives had the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
