Janice was born on September 29, 1947 to Emily R. (White) Gill and Donald Gill Sr. Janice was a life long resident of the Sisseton area and attended school in Sisseton then continued on to graduate from a Watertown Business School.

Prior to joining the federal government, Janice was employed by the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate, Realty Department for 17 years. Janice was known by her family to be a workaholic, she gave 100% to her duties and responsibilities, and enjoyed her field of work very much.
Janice is survived by her seven children; Derek DeMarrias, Andrea Gill, Galen DeMarrias, Justin Gill, Jordan Gill, Dallas LaCroix. all of Sisseton, SD, Lyndsey (Arlen) Renville Jr. of Peever, SD, significant other Charles Greeley of Sisseton, SD; three sisters Amy Crawford and Delphine Wanna, both of Sisseton, SD, and Donna Sitake of Mesa, AZ; one brother Archie White of Keshena, WI; seventeen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by Maternal Grandparents, Louisa (Lovejoy) & Robert White; Paternal Grandparents Jenny (Bear) & Matthew Gill; Mother Emily Gill and Father Donald Gill; brothers Francis Gill, Cyrus White, Frederick Gill, Gilbert Gill, Donald Gill Jr., and Gaylord Gill Sr.; sisters Marcella Gill and Barbara Mendoza; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
