Asheboro -- Mrs. Jane Page Walker Croom, 53, of W. Kivett St. died Tuesday in Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.
She was a native of Asheboro and attended Salem Academy. She was president of the Asheboro chapter of the DAR. She was a member of the War Mothers, the Randolph Book Club and Central United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, James D. Croom Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Mark Leggett of Charlotte; two sons, James D. Croom III of Charlotte and William W. Croom of Asheboro; and a brother, Judge Hal Hammer Walker.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at Pugh Funeral Home.
The family requests that memorial be directed to the Asheboro Library or to the donor's favorite charity, rather than to the funeral.
