Alonzo (Lonnie) William Boardway 82, resident of Puyallup, Washington for the last 4 years died on November 25, 2008 in Seattle, Washington, after a month long battle with Guillain-Barre Syndrome.

Lonnie was born on November 11, 1926 in Oswego, New York. Lonnie served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He resided in Whittier,CA for 49 years, and he married Rita Ryan at Our Lady of Victory in Compton, CA.

Lonnie was employed by the Chrysler Automotive Company retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Chrysler Union where he served as treasurer. He was a member of the American Bowling Association, Eagles Club and Auburn Bocce Club. Lonnie enjoyed bowling, bocce ball, golf, fishing, camping, reading, horseshoes, watching westerns, cards, board games, and poker. He was an instant and dedicated friend to everyone he knew.

Lonnie is preceded in death by his wife; Rita, brother; Chuck, sisters; Rena & Barbara, daughter; Elaine Boardway.

He is survived by sons; Jerry & Michael Boardway, daughters; Kat Datko, Linda Bostwick, Brenda Ryan, Carol Bullock, Janet Kurz & Denise Fairchild. 12 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Price-Helton Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, 5 to 7 PM with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Holy Disciples Catholic Church in Puyallup, WA. Burial will be on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Rowland Heights, CA. Arrangements under the direction of Price-Helton Funeral Home in Auburn, WA.
