WILLIAM DAVIS BAGWELL of Orlando, FL - he was the son of William R and Evie Bagwell (family of Evelyn, Grace, Meriam, Barbara and Bill grew up in Sacramento, CA). Bill entered the National Guard as an Aviation Cadet and transitioned into the U.S. Army Air Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant. Bill met Marjorie Ann Shepherd while in LA and they married December 14, 1943. During his military career, Bill was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for "heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight". He retired December 31, 1963 with the rank of Major at McCoy Air Force Base - Strategic Air Command H.Q. in Orlando, FL and started a new career as a manager at ABC Liquors. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie who died in March 2006 of cancer. Surviving are children, William "Billy", Larry and Susie; grandchildren, Katie Koskoff, Ken Bagwell, Kelley Bagwell and Brandon Fette and great-grandchildren, Rowan and Leon Koskoff. A reception in his honor will be held August 16, 2011 at the Baldwin Fairchild East Altamonte Chapel in Altamonte Springs, FL. Funeral Services with full military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. Published in the Orlando Sentinel on August 12, 2011.
