American Revolutionary War Soldier. He was killed on the first day of the American Revolution, one of fifty Americans either killed or mortally wounded on that day. At the North Bridge in Concord, after proclaiming "I haven't a man that is afraid to go!", he marched his Acton Minute Men to the front of the American forces to face the British army. His heart was pierced by a musket ball. He was the son of Ezekiel and Mary (Gibson) Davis, and married Hannah Brown on 24 October, 1764, in Acton, Massachusetts.

Is there not an appointed time to man upon ye earth? Are not his days also like the days of an hireling? As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away, so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more. He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him any more. -- Job vii. 1, 9, 10.
