Fred L. Brown, 79, former long-time Estherville resident, died of a heart attack about 5:30 p.m. yesterday [April 7, 1949] while working in a Fort Dodge greenhouse. He had not been ill and death was completely unexpected.
Brown was for many years a brakeman on the M. and St. L. railroad and ran from Estherville to Fort Dodge. He has lived in Fort Dodge for several years.
He was born in Boone Nov. 6, 1870, and received his education in the Boone schools coming to Estherville as a young man. His body will be brought to Estherville for burial.
Relatives in Estherville include a daughter, Mrs. Charles Iseminger; a sister, Mrs. Eva Crim, and a sister-in-law, Miss Hazel Bemis.

Brown Rites Tomorrow
Services for Fred L. Brown will be held 2 p.m. tomorrow at Fort Dodge Methodist church. Following the service there the body will be returned to Estherville for burial at Eastside cemetery. Rev. G.
