American Revolutionary War Soldier. He was killed during the British retreat from Concord on the first day of the American Revolution, one of fifty Americans either killed or mortally wounded on that day. Caught by surprise by British flankers at Watson's Corner, he was the highest ranking officer of either side to fall.
