Dr. Richard Frederick Bol, age 85, of Stillwater, Minn., died peacefully in his home on July 14, 2011.

Richard graduated from Logan Chiropractic College in 1949 and became a member of the Minnesota Chiropractic Assn. that same year.

His chiropractic awards include: Chiropractor of the Year, the Meritorious Award, Distinguished Service Awards, recognized for 26 years as MCA Annual Banquet Chairman, and most recently recognized for 60-plus years of dedication to the MCA and chiropractic profession.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a Golden Gloves boxer while in high school and fleet champion while in the Navy.

Richard loved the outdoors and hunting with family and friends. He had a passion for riding and showing horses. He was a member of the Minnesota Walking Horse Assn., Tri-State Horsemen's Assn., and mentored many horse enthusiasts. He was active in North St. Paul Jaycees, North St. Paul Lions Club, Knights of Columbus and Toastmasters.

Preceded in death by parents, Frederick and Esther; wife, June; granddaughter Greta; brother Gerald; and brother-in-law Roger.

Survived by sons, Richard (Becky), Scott, Todd (Susan), Tony (Eden); daughter, Carolee (Scott); grandchildren Shawna (Mike), Jakob, Hannah, Davin, Gerhard, Allison, Austin, Yasha, Cyrus, Elias, Dereck, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Trevor, Trenton, Owen; brother Garry (Karin); sisters, Loni (BB) and Kathy (Mike); brothers-in-law Zigmant (Jackie) and David (Linda); and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 18, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 8260 4th Street N., Oakdale, MN 55128, 651-738-2223. Mass of Christian Burial at Guardian Angels Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass.
