Dungannon, Va -- [Spl.]-- James Monroe Corder, 97, died at his home here at 12:15 p.m. Born in Burkes Garden, Tazewell County, he was the son of the late Elijah and Nancy Osborne Corder. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Mr. Corder's wife, Rebecca Dockery Corder, died seven years ago.
Mr. Corder is survived by two sons, Arthur of Cumberland, Ky., and Walker, Dungannon; and two daughters, Mrs. Ballard Carter and Mrs. Hoke Osborne, both of Clinchfield, Va.
Funeral services will be held at the Corder home at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Mac Butler and the Rev. James Cassell will officiate. Burial will be in the Corder family cemetery.
