Deseret News, August 14-16, 2011 'Kenzie' Our sweet Mackenzie Allie Christensen, age 16, passed away August 10, 2011 in a tragic automobile accident while traveling to a family reunion. The accident took the life of Mackenzie's grandmother, step-grandfather, and seriously injured her cousin. Mackenzie was born November 20, 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Chad Allen Christensen and Kelli Diane Duncan Christensen. She was attending school at Jordan High in Sandy, Utah. Kenzie is cherished by her parents. She enjoyed spending time with her family, whom she loved very much. She is a wonderful example to her younger sisters who love and admire her. Kenzie also had a strong relationship with her grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. Kenzie had a passion for life and had already developed many talents. She was an accomplished pianist and shared her gift of music with her piano students. Kenzie excelled in her school work and was a member of the Jordan High School volleyball team. She loved the game and associating with her teammates. Friends were an important part of her life. Kenzie was known and loved for her positive, cheerful attitude. She had the ability to sense the needs of others, and extend her friendship to everyone. She was excited for her opportunity to serve in the Special Needs Mutual in the LDS Church, and was an active member of the Young Women's organization. Mackenzie will be missed by her parents: Chad and Kelli, and sisters: Jade and Abbie. Family and friends may call Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at the Sandy Central Stake Center 1050 East Galena Drive (9820 South) Sandy, Utah. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Sandy Central Stake Center, visitation at 11:00 a.m., and services beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment: Holladay Memorial Park 4900 South Memory Lane.
