Mrs. Sue Davis Buried Here Monday 3 P.M.
Mrs. Sue Davis, aged 64, former LaFayette resident, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Jim Brightman, Birmingham, last Sunday morning following a protracted illness.
The deceased was the widow of the late Walter G. Davis, former citizen and mayor of this city. Mrs. Davis was born and reared in this city, being a daughter of the late J. M. Driver, of this city. She moved with her husband several years ago to Hogansville, Ga., where they made their home for many years. She was a member of the Hogansville Baptist Church.
The body was shipped to LaFayette on Monday, reaching the city about mid-day. The funeral service was held from the local Baptist Church with Rev. Gray, pastor of the deceased at Hogansville; Rev. Meiere, pastor of the local Baptist church, and Rev. J. W. McBrayer, pastor of the local Methodist church being the officiating minister.
Surviving the deceased are one brother, A. J. Driver, Montgomery; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Jim Brightman, Birmingham; Mrs. Phillips, Birmingham, and Mrs. Winnie Word, Hogansville, Ga. Robinson & Cutler were in charge.
