Friends of Specialist Who Had Practised Here 30 Years Surround Bier Before Body Is Shipped to Old Home.

Dr. J.B. Henion, for 30 years well known in Boston as a medical specialist in chronic diseases, died suddenly Saturday evening at the Quincy House, where for many years he had occupied apartments.

About the middle of last week Dr. Henion became ill and took to his bed. He was troubled with a disease of the kidneys. His heart became affected and he died very unexpectedly in the presence of only a physician and nurse. Word was sent to his nearest relative, B.H. Henion of Brockport, N.Y., who arrived here yesterday and took charge of the body.

Large numbers of friends, some of them former patients, called for a last look at the old doctor yesterday, and the body was taken on board a train for Brockport last night, where it will be interred in the family plot.

Born on a farm in New York state near Brockport nearly 68 years ago, he is said to have studied first in New York and Philadelphia and afterward in a German university. He practised first in Clarkson, N.Y., and in 1868 went to Rochester, where he married Miss Eleanor Harris of Rockport, who died at the Quincy House about four years ago, where she and her husband had resided.

While he lived here most of the time, Dr. Henion, up to the time of his wife's death, retained his home in Rochester. For many years he was assisted by a younger brother, Dr. E.B. Henion, who died about 10 years ago. His nearest surviving relatives are two nephews.
